Located in Laval, along Highway 13, in the heart of an industrial area undergoing transformation, the building serves a dual purpose: to assert Rivian’s presence along a major highway while embodying the brand’s values of innovation and modernity.
The architectural composition consists of two stacked volumes with distinct characteristics. The upper volume, finished in black, adopts a monolithic and minimalist style that serves as a backdrop for Rivian’s visual identity. The lower base, lighter in color and transparent, is designed on a pedestrian scale and gives the building a sense of accessibility. A continuous band of light marks the junction between the two components and accentuates the horizontal lines of the structure as a whole.
On the facade, the fully glass-enclosed showroom is a central element of the design. Located at the main entrance, it serves as a dynamic showcase where the activity inside brings the facade to life both day and night, enhancing the brand’s visibility and influence.
Through its minimalist design and the contrast between opacity and transparency, the project presents a strong and enduring image, consistent with Rivian’s brand positioning. The building is currently in the process of obtaining LEED v4 certification, reflecting a commitment to integrating principles of sustainability and environmental performance throughout the entire project.
