This new industrial and commercial building is located at the intersection of De Lorimier and Angus neighborhoods, on the corner of Hogan and Rachel streets. The railroad near the site acts as a border between these two neighborhoods.
Dominated by its industrial history, De Lorimier is characterized by an abundance of two-storey buildings clad in red clay bricks. On either side of Hogan Street, it is one of the last industrial neighborhoods in the Plateau Mont-Royal area.
On the Angus side, the area’s development has led to the emergence of larger-scale buildings, evolving from traditional industrial architecture to contemporary architecture.
To connect with the context, our concept drew inspiration from traces of both neighborhoods’ industrial past to provide a contemporary interpretation of this architectural heritage.
