Designed for a couple and their two children, the residence is located on a large farmland lot. Inspired by the vernacular language found in the local landscape, it reflects the family's current lifestyle, while nodding to the lot’s original occupation. The project's integration into its surroundings is achieved through the use of light colors for both exterior cladding and roof, drawing on the characteristics of neighboring buildings. The windows with refined glazing act as a nod to old buildings of yesteryear.
Set back from the street, the residence is distanced from noise, promoting privacy and allowing for harmony with nature. A long private driveway provides access to the property.
The layout is organized into three volumes designed according to the functional program and the geographical orientation of the site. Focusing on the contribution of natural light to experience the passage of time throughout the day, circulation is fluid and symmetrical. Various ceiling heights are established according to the desired spatial relationship.
Contrast between the transparency of the fully glazed partition and the opacity of the projecting roof marks the entrance. The garage space is closed and concealed, unlike the living area, which is completely open, creating an almost permeable relationship between interior and exterior. Bedrooms are selectively open, offering precisely structured visual openings while maintaining desired privacy. The alignment of each architectural element echoes the neat and orderly organization of agricultural fields and contributes to the residence’s spatial quality.
