The project aims to transform a former industrial site into a mixed-use residential complex, which will include housing on the upper floors and retail space on the ground floor. Currently undergoing transition, the area is only occupied by two industrial buildings at the moment. This redevelopment is therefore a natural part of the neighborhood's evolution.
The arrival of this new development will help better integrate the site into its environment, while offering useful local services to new residents as well as people living in the surrounding neighborhood. The project also includes the creation of accessible outdoor facilities (public space, semi-private space, and terrace space for shops) designed to promote interaction and well-being among the complex's residents and local citizens. The goal is to create a lively, accessible, and people-friendly place.
One important element of the project is the development of new premises for the Crèmerie de l'Est, a well-known local business deeply rooted in the communal fabric of Sherbrooke. Its integration into the project reflects a desire to preserve the area’s unique identity while also modernizing it.
This project represents a great opportunity to give a useful purpose to an underutilized piece of land, while respecting the neighborhood and its residents.
