The Saint-Michel-Archange School redevelopment project is characterized by its contemporary style and will to foster a sense of belonging in children.
In keeping with the African proverb “It takes a village to raise a child” and with the presence of a village community in the municipality of Saint-Michel, we created collaborative classroom layouts incorporating the following three main themes:
Active space: dedicated to movement, activities, games, group work, energy, evolution, ideas, liveliness, circulation, speed, speaking up, group synergy, social exchanges, creative stimuli, communication, circuits, and team sports.
Learning space: dedicated to problem solving, brainstorming, attention, collaboration, creative exchanges, reflection, preparation, questioning, encounters, crafting, discussion, round tables, research, participation, design, consultation, rallying, mobilization, and convergence.
Calming space: dedicated to calm and whispering, developing the imagination, relaxation, tranquility, well-being, reading, research, relaxation, breaks, happiness, letting go, freedom, creative thinking, observation, and independent learning.
